Ichiban sushi
the restaurant of my dreams
oh how I loved you
You were sold, and bought
sold again, to my dismay
I don't forgive you
Your tuna tartare
a delight to the senses
now its just spendy
and just not all that.
I loved the Kewpie mayo
and flying fish eggs
the sushi stood still
the river of time moved on
that moment has passed

ReplyDeleteThis is great! And so true. It's hard to lose a thing of comfort and familiarity, but it's a reality because the older I get, the more things seem to change. It's a lesson to really appreciate what is in front of you right now. The old living in the moment thang. Well done!
ReplyDeleteHi Ginger - The soul I am missing is my old dog. She was fifteen years old, passed away about two weeks ago. It's been pretty hard, she saw me through any number of tragedies with aplomb and love. Such a big part of my life and my life style has had do undergo a change. I'm still adjusting.
